A cosy retreat for those seeking a blend of seaside charm and historic character, this pub with rooms is just moments away from Emsworth’s quaint streets, bustling harbour, and local treasures.

Refurbished to the highest Heartwood standard, The Ropemaker offers more than just a place to stay – it’s an experience in comfort and style. We are delighted that two of our designs, Naboyka and Posie, feature in its interiors.

In the Really Fancy rooms, our Naboyka in Terracotta makes a bold and graceful statement on the headboards. Inspired by traditional Slavic block printing, Naboyka’s flowing, stylised florals and patterned textures dance across a richly coloured ground. Here, the terracotta shade adds depth and warmth, complementing the coastal light and creating a refined, inviting retreat. Printed on a weighty yet fluid textured linen, it brings both structure and softness to the space.

For the Cosy rooms, The Ropemaker chose our Posie in Brook as accent cushions. This paisley-inspired design features a posy of stylised flowers, enriched with wood block texture and line work. Printed on a natural linen-cotton ground, Posie in Brook offers a harmonious mix of rustic charm and modern ease. Its medium-scale print and soothing palette make it ideal for these intimate spaces, giving guests a warm, homely welcome after a day by the sea.

Whether you’re indulging in the elegance of a Really Fancy room with Naboyka’s graceful blooms or relaxing into the calm charm of a Cosy room dressed in Posie, The Ropemaker captures the very spirit of coastal comfort – with a touch of Ian Sanderson craftsmanship woven in.
