A Celebration of Colour and Craft at Dreweatts Auction House

We had the pleasure of staging a very special photoshoot at the historic Dreweatts auction house in Newbury, a building steeped in character and heritage. Established in 1759, Dreweatts is one of the UK’s leading auction houses, renowned for its breadth of expertise across 22 specialist departments, from Fine Art and Ceramics to Furniture, Clocks, Jewellery, and beyond. Its Georgian architecture and elegant interiors provided the perfect backdrop for our most expressive and joyful collection: Friday Club.

The centrepiece of our shoot was a brilliant Julian Chichester cane-wrapped four-poster bed, styled to show off the rich personality and colour of the Friday Club fabrics. The cascading drapes were created from our Palm Wave – Garnet embroidery, flowing beautifully from all four corners. Layered atop the bed was Barbican – Sumac embroidery bedspread, full of movement and texture, perfectly complemented by a Juni Stripe – Terracotta bolster cushion finished with a luxurious Samuel & Sons trim.

The bench at the foot of the bed, by David Seyfried, was upholstered in Tilton Stripe – Arboretum, bringing vertical rhythm and a fresh, botanical feel. The headboard, made in our painterly Florella – Garden Party, added a soft and romantic note, while our Lampshades in Mallow Border – Chilli elevated the space with its graceful, hand-pleated elegance.

The grandeur of Dreweatts’ Georgian setting allowed each piece to breathe, highlighting the spirited, painterly charm of the Friday Club Collection. This range is designed to be savoured, whether you’re making a singular statement or building a layered, expressive interior. Drawing inspiration from the creativity Charleston House and the free-thinking Bloomsbury Group, the collection captures the joy of colour and artistic experimentation.

There’s something truly magical about styling contemporary textiles within a space that has seen centuries of history, and this shoot was a testament to the power of storytelling through design.
